RACE NUMBER
Participants will be given a race number at registration. This must be fixed to your front (either pinned to your shirt or attached to a race belt) and be fully visible throughout the entire race. Race belts are recommended.
GEAR
Participants must carry the listed items as a safety precaution, enhancing their well-being. While gear checks won't be conducted at registration, podium finishers are expected to have the specified items on hand.
25KM and 50KM COMPULSORY GEAR
Fully charged cell phone | Hydration pack | Filled water bladder with carry capacity of 1 or more litres | Space blanket | Whistle | Cap or wide brim hat | Nutrition and food
ENVIRONMENT
Any littering on the course is strictly prohibited. Runners are responsible for ensuring that anything they discard goes into a bin. Never startle or approach any animal and always give extra room and announce your presence appropriately to prevent possible dangerous situations (giraffe, eland, ostrich etc.). Always follow the route. The taking of shortcuts, including avoiding switchbacks, is not permitted. Always respect your environment and the opportunity given to us to run in this beautiful location.
CUT-OFF TIMES
CRADLE ULTRA-TRAIL has several cut-off times that will be strictly enforced. Cut-offs are in place to ensure that the Medical/Search and Rescue teams can deploy to various parts of the route and participants have sufficient time to complete the remaining distance. Participants are required to leave each checkpoint before the cut-off time. Participants will receive a "did-not-finish' (DNF) classification if they miss any of the cut-off times.
LITTER FREE RACE
As with all our other events, the Cradle Ultra-Trail is a LITTER FREE RACE! This means that there will be no water sachets or cups available at the water points. Runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration packs, water bladders, containers and water bottles. Water containers will be available at all water points where you can fill up.
LOST AND FOUND
Any items left after the race will be donated to local runners in need and no 'lost and found' items will be couriered to you.
RESULTS
Preliminary results will be available immediately on the website. Final results will be posted on this website within a few days of the race.
